People appriciate good taste

I have tried to be really creative this week with the choices I have had to make. This week was one of the hardest academic weeks I think I have ever had so there wasn't a whole lot of fun involved with that. Because I need fun in my life I decided to express it through my wardrobe choices. I conquered the unknown this week and did a faux hawk and it got a great response! People told me that they would have never guessed that one day I would be walking around with a faux hawk but if there was anyone that could pull it off it would be me! haha I loved that comment! This week was a cold one so that presented a further challenge in outfit choices but I think I made it work. I went to a Padres game on Sunday and got to go on the field for a Switchfoot concert which was awesome! I took my residents to get hall tshirts made this week, and tonight we are getting dressed up in out 50's gear and going out to dinner at Corvettes Diner! I have hope that my life will someday get less crazy, I am started to get a rhythm down and schedule everything out but it is taking longer to do this than I had hoped. My C.S. Lewis class is going really well but it also very demanding. I have gotten quicker at reading because of it and I can't wait until I can actually have an intelligent conversation with someone about all of his work and actually know what I am talking about. We are reading his sci-fi books right now and I never thought I would enjoy sci-fi so much! It is really interesting and makes me use my imagination. We are also reading the Screwtape letters right now which is very informative but hard for me to wrap my mind around. So far I am loving Junior year and all it has to offer, I can already tell that this is going to be a big/great year for me and I can't wait to see the plans the Lord has for me.

I wore this to church this week. The blouse has a long black tie at the neck and the skirt is an asymetrical sheer shirt with a mini skirt underneath. The shoes are black platform peep toe booties.

This is me at the Padres game!

This is my faux hawk day! I wore a black quarter sleeve crop top and some boyfriend shorts.
This blouse is a long sleeve button up with lace in the shoulders and eleastic in the cuffs.
The back has a cool cut out and a tie.
Same asymetrical skirt but with a more casual feel. I added a lond sleeve tshirt and a jean jacket and paired with some oxford style shoes and high socks.
Black blazer, embellished tshirt, cullotte shorts and black tights

Black blouse with neck tie and high waisted electric blue skirt paired with black tights.

I'm Alive!!!!

I'm finally back to blogging! It feels so good because I just spend about 20 min. trying to find my blog homepage again. I guess Google did an update and I was so afraid it was lost forever! Anyway I am calm now and ready to update you all on my crazy, blessed, life! I have pretty much been running around for about three straight weeks now. I have been doing RA stuff, club stuff, a ton of homework and reading, getting over a cold, dealing with a blackout, meeting a ton of amazing new people and catching up with old friends. I have already have people tell me that they thought I was a senior last year and wondering what I am still doing at school! haah I have also had people walk right past me when I say hi because they dont recognize me with my new haircut! I couldn't believe it the first few times but now if they ignore me I just chase them down and make myself known! I am loving being a freshmen RA I have already been given so many great opportunities to get to know these girls and connect with them. I have really been blessed! I have been trying to remember to take a picture of my outfit everyday for the last few days. I just want to create my own little look book and get my outfit choices out there :) I also just went to a play for my C.S. Lewis class on the book "Till We Have Faces." I have added a picture of me and my friends Ashley and Abby at the play. I am finally getting over my cold and I could not be more grateful! I really hate being sick especially when I don't have the time for it! I am missing Paris already. I knew I would eventually miss it but I didn't think that it would come so quickly! I got a job off campus as well, just a few times a week but it help fund my fun :) I am so excited that I am getting the opportunity to design the sweatshirt for the Phi U honor society that I am in! I am also going to design a hall t-shirt for my hall of the dorm I am in :) I am in a display class right now where we are focusing on store and window displays and I feel so prepared for it after my styling class I took in Paris. When we were styling a photoshoot for that class we would have to look high and low for props, or even trash sometimes in order to decorate the photo shoot. I am sure that that has prepared me for looking around and keeping my eyes open for props that I will be able to use for these in class displays!

These are the name tags that I made for each new resident I got on my hall this year! They each have one right outside their door :)
This is my room this year!
This is the wonderful view I have from my room :)

Tonight I am working the box in my dorm for 4 hours which is always nice to get homework done and visit with people. Tomorrow I am going to the elderly outreach ministry which is my favorite ministry that I have missed so much over this summer!!!! A group of us from Point Loma head over to an assisted living facility and just visit with the residents there for a couple of hours and it is always the best hours of my week :) On Sunday I am going to a Padres game with my school and residents and after the game there is going to be a Switchfoot concert. To tell you the true I think I am more excited about the concert than the game but I love rooting for people no matter what team they are from so I know it will be a good time! I am an a biology class right now that is focused on Ecology and Conservation and we are learning about the importance of recycling. I have been studying what types of products can be broken down over time and which products never break down and just sit in landfills. It actually hurts my heart that so many people don't know about the damage that they are causing. Please use reusable bags at the grocery stores, plastic bags take 10,000 years just to start decomposing. That means that it will be multiple generation before the bags we are using today even start to break down. That is not good for the future of our earth. Also I found out that it is a little taboo for Christians to care about the environment. I guess the reasoning is that Christians have conservative views like pro-life and same sex marriages, and liberals are pro choice, and for gay marriage, but also care about enviromentalism. So people think that is you are a Christian that cares about taking care of God's earth then you must also believe in abortion and gay marriage. I have no idea what people are thinking these days! I believe that if you are a Christian no matter what your political views you should know that the Bible tells you that the Lord gave us this earth and that we are to be hospitable to it. It is just the right thing to do! So please try to find a way that you can be a little more green in your life :) Ok well I think I have said enough for now haha here are some new pictures!
