Fashion is my calling

Bonjour everyone! The second week of my class is over! We only have three more sesssions of class before I start on my second class, trend forecasting. I am so sad that this class is coming to an end but I dont have time to worry about it too much because between now and next Wed. I have so much to do! My next photoshoot is Voo Doo themed. I think I am going to dress up as a voo doo doll and put pins on my clothes and in my hair. Today we had our midterm assessments of our sketch books which have everything we have done so far in the class inside of them. It has all of our sketches, research, pictures, and inspiration. I LOVE updating my sketch book, I have one at home that I add to all the time so that part of the class comes easy to me. My teacher loved my sketch book, the critic he did give me was to make my next photo shoots more of an editorial that tells a narrative. So I am going to need a few outfit changes and some different locations that really get a story accross. I had no idea that we were supposed to be shooting editorials so I am so glad that he gave me that advice because that is something that I can definetly do :) This class has been stressful because I am having to top myself every time we have pictures due! After Voo Doo is a historical shoot, I am doing Edith Sitwell who was a poet that lived in France and her fashion style was very close to Queen Elizebeth I. She wore a lot of crazy hats so I think that is the aspect I am going to focus on for my editorial. I am also going to write some of her poetry on my models skin which will hopefully turn out pretty cool. I have so many ideas that I just need to organize and get on film :) Last night my friends and I went to the Eiffel Tower for dinner. We packed a picnic and sat out on the grass right in front of it. We had bread, cheese, fruit, and desserts! It was an amazing night, the summer air was so nice and at 9pm the twinkling lights went off for 5 mins. It was so beautiful! I felt like I was at Disneyland or something! I also went to Sacred Heart church which is the highest point in Paris, it was so beautiful and so full of stairs! Then we went to a fabric district that was really close to the church. These fabric stores were amazing, they had anything I could ever want. There was a whole wall dedicated to buttons! I loved it. I got kicked out of a cafe for sitting with my friends and not ordering anything during lunch hour haha but it was ok because a few of us brought out lunches so we ate on the steps of the church, which was beautiful and full of tourists doing the same thing. A lot of the people on this trip are going to London this weekend. I and two others are staying behind, but we have a load of things to do planned. We will be visiting the Louvre, Versailles, and the Moulin Rouge! I can't wait, there is never a dull moment in Paris! Au Revoir!
